COLE SWINDELL HAS MILESTONE DAY CELEBRATING AND HONORING HIS DAD’S BIRTHDAY

Platinum-selling recording artist and record-breaking five-time No. 1 hit maker Cole Swindell had one of his best days yesterday – his late Dad’s birthday. After spending the morning working with the staff at CMT to prepare for his upcoming fall headlining tour, CMT Presents the Cole Swindell Down Home, the rising singer/songwriter stopped by the Country Music Association to visit with the staff and share with them his brand new video for his Top 20 and rising single “Middle of a Memory.” While there yesterday, Swindell was surprised with the news that his career-defining hit “You Should Be Here,” a song he co-wrote with Ashley Gorley as a way to honor and remember his Dad who passed away shortly after he signed his recording contract with Warner Bros./Warner Music Nashville, was just certified Platinum by the RIAA for sales of 1 million.

The emotional and excited Swindell, at first speechless, explained it was special to learn this news on his Dad’s birthday – also the very day he would be honoring and remembering his Dad by performing “You Should Be Here” on the Grand Ole Opry.

Following his performance of “You Should Be Here” last night on the Grand Ole Opry, Swindell walked off the stage greeted and surprised by his team with a plaque celebrating the significant milestone of “You Should Be Here” having surpassed over 1 BILLION audience impressions (Mediabase audience: 979m, On-demand audio/video streams: 53m, digital track sales: 714,000+) including 26 million streams of the video on his own YouTube channel alone. The single has achieved more than 1 MILLION equivalent track sales.

As “You Should Be Here” continues impact fans and listeners, Swindell is already close to cracking the Top 15 with his follow-up single “Middle of a Memory.”

Cole is currently on tour with Florida Georgia Line’s Dig Your Roots Tour. He will hit the road on October 26 for his own headlining CMT Presents the Cole Swindell Down Home Tour in tandem with the October 28 release of his Down Home Sessions III EP.
