COLE SWINDELL WRAPS UP MEMORABLE MILESTONE YEAR

Platinum-selling recording artist Cole Swindell prepares to wrap not only his third annual sold-out headlining Down Home Tour (CMT ON TOUR Presents the COLE SWINDELL DOWN HOME TOUR) this weekend, but he wraps a memorable milestone year which includes notching his record-breaking sixth consecutive No. 1 single (“Middle of a Memory”), being named the NSAI Songwriter/Artist of the Year and celebrating the biggest song of his career thus far with the title track of his sophomore album released in May, “You Should Be Here.”

“You Should Be Here,” considered a career-defining song for Swindell, racked up over 1 BILLION audience impressions and has been a Top 5 selling country song since the month it impacted radio in January. The song was certified-Platinum and boasts over 70 million streams, 1.3 MILLION+ tracks sold and almost 35 million YouTube views. The humbled singer/songwriter performed the emotional song on the Grand Ole Opry on his late Dad’s birthday. Additionally, he performed the song on the 51st Annual ACM Awards, Good Morning America, Fox’s American Country Countdown Awards and in one of the most emotional and special moments for Swindell was performing the song live at the World Trade Center terrace overlooking Freedom Tower on Fox & Friends in front of friends, families, first responders and survivors of 9/11.

2016 career highlights for Swindell included:

Self-titled debut album was certified Platinum this year by the RIAA
USA Today named his performance of “You Should Be Here” the “Biggest Moment” of the night at the CMA Music Festival
Teamed with the USO for their 75th Anniversary celebration and the USO’s Campaign to Connect helping the USO reach 1 million messages of support to service members and their families
Just eight months after he released “You Should Be Here,” the song reached the “1 Billion, 1 Million” milestone for surpassing over 1 BILLION audience impressions and selling more than 1 MILLION track equivalent sales.
Toured with Florida Georgia Line’s Dig Your Roots Tour
Released his Down Home Sessions III EP, a collection of new music for his fans, in tandem with his sold-out third annual Down Home Tour returning to the bars and clubs where he got his start
“Middle of A Memory” (second single from You Should Be Here) became his 6th consecutive #1 single and his 5th No. 1 video and 9th No. 1 song as a songwriter
Nominated for CMA New Artist of the Year
Was honorary starter at the NASCAR Sprint Cup’s Hollywood Casino 400
Celebrity judge at Miss America pageant
Swindell was surprised with a special serenade of the song, which averaged two million streams per week, by Angelica Hale at the Miss America pageant. The 9-year-old, who sang the National Anthem at the ceremony’s opening, is a member of the Children’s Miracle Network. The video quickly racked up a million views and captured hearts of those who saw the performance.
Announced he will be touring with Dierks Bentley’s “What In The Hell World Tour” in 2017
Performing a pre-game Fan Fest concert at the NCAA's Orange Bowl on December 30
Performing the halftime show at the NCAA’s Citrus Bowl on New Year’s Eve

"I look back on this year and am just overwhelmed with emotion,” said Swindell. “I knew that music was powerful but I never ever could have imagined what impact my music could truly have on other people and more importantly in turn what it has done for me. I wrote a song as a way to help myself through the grief of losing my Dad. But it quickly became bigger than me as people began writing to me with the most incredible stories about how the song helped them through extraordinary life events. I knew then it wasn’t about me anymore. I hope my fans know they have helped ME with every story, every ticket they have bought this year, every call to radio, and just showing up at my shows. “You Should Be Here” has truly changed my life. I am truly truly blessed with a great team around me, great friends, great songwriting buddies, encouraging support from my friends at radio and media and most importantly blessed with the greatest fans in the world. 2016 was pretty amazing and it’s going to be really hard to top … but I’m up for the challenge!”
