Emerging country star Cole Swindell continues to celebrate into 2015 with an exciting fan voted nomination for ACM’s New Artist of the Year. The award nomination, which will be presented April 19 during the 50th annual Academy of Country Music event at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, was announced one year to the day since his self-titled debut album was released on Warner Bros. Records. Swindell was quick to thank his supporters, saying “I cannot thank the fans enough for voting me into this category with so many great artists to choose from. The fact that I get to celebrate the nomination just one year after my debut album came out, that’s a dream I could have never even imagined. It’s been incredible ride so far and I could not have done this without the support of all the country music fans out there. I’m going to keep working hard on the road this year for them.”   The ACM nod follows his impressive iHeart Award nomination for the same category. Swindell is the only country artist represented, named alongside Sam Smith, Meghan Trainor, Iggy Azalea and Bastille. The CMA Triple Play winner is also gearing up to perform in Nashville this weekend while on tour with Jason Aldean’s “Burn it Down” tour, which kicked off last week (See photo above). “I’ve been a fan of Jason Aldean ever since he came out with “Hicktown” on his first album. So for him to think enough of my music and what I’m doing to want to invite me out on tour is the biggest compliment ever. I mean, he’s one of my favorite artists and I’ve always looked up to what he was doing so to be out here and getting to learn from him and getting to know him is gonna be a blast this year.” Meanwhile, the Georgia native is climbing the charts rapidly once again, this time for his third consecutive hit off his album, “Ain’t Worth the Whiskey,” which is nearing Top 10 this week on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs Chart.
